So after an extended layoff with regards to writing in this thing (my last post mentioned "Jasper Kozak" and "trusted" in the same sentence...GOOD...

So after an extended layoff with regards to writing in this thing (my last post mentioned "Jasper Kozak" and "trusted" in the same sentence...GOOD LORD!), here I am back to it, dedicated to give an insight of what happened last season, what's coming this season and where we are heading next season.

I have a few stories to tell from last season, but we'll save those for another time. I wanted to touch on the flourish of trade activity and its effects on the Wolves.

We lost a big piece of the puzzle in AJ Dooley. If you haven't heard, apparently he is more than one person on the boards and has some sort of split personality. I haven't spoken to "AJ" in about a week, about the same time the thread got locked and we haven't heard anything more about it. This leaves a gaping hole in our blue line, one that we're looking to fill.

HAVING SAID THAT...we have a better defence now, than we did last season when we won the league. Ratings wise, we went up one grade point, and combine that with our much improved offence, and we're overall a much better team than the one that completed its Championship run a couple of months ago.

I've been in negotiations with a couple of people regarding a defenceman, however nothing concrete as yet. Trades for defencemen are especially difficult to pull off, especially if you're trying not to give one up in the process. They are a rare commodity in this league, so no GM wants to part with one.

Vancouver got Randy Geralt on a rental. Randy's contract is up at the end of this season and he's stated that he will go wherever activity is needed. I suspect that means he'll go to Turku next season, however a lot can change...he may even stay in Vancouver if that's where he decides to go. Randy's arrival with the Voodoo doesn't really change much for us. I was surprised at the move, it almost signals a re-build for Washington. Not a full-blown explosion, but a minor tweaking at the very least.

We are still a better team than last season, and I expect us to repeat as Conference Champions over Vancouver, Vinland, Washington and Mississauga (in that order). The playoffs are no doubt going to be tough, with Munich the team to beat, however Krakow is always strong (although they made a Washington-esque move too with Will Kemp).

I'm looking forward to this season. We have a roster that I am 100% happy with. Everyone in the top 9 are good, active, contributing members of the club and I can't ask for more than that. We got a blow dealt to us losing AJ, however guys like Oscar are due for a potential return, and we'll look to snag a defenceman in what looks to be a weak draft.

A King's opinion about the World Cup

Krakow Kings forward Guillermo Cervantes has been closely watching the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and has some things to say concerning the past matches in the playoffs.

"Well, they were certainly pretty thrilling, although I'm still sad that Mexico couldn't get past Argentina (Lousy stupid #$&@ing referees!) and a darkhorse favorite, Japan, had been edged by Paraguay. At this time, there have been a few surprises here and there and some dissapointments."

And this is his opinion about the teams:

"Well, after a tough game, Brazil is going home; karma caught up to Italy and France was awful in the first round. The African teams didn't look too sharp and the darkhorse team Ghana has been eliminated today in penalties; they shouldn't be ashamed and sad for the loss, they can use this as a next step and try for the Cup one day. Penalties murdered them, just like with us back home! My favorite has to be Germany because they're a pretty joy to watch, they have a strong team that can beat you anytime and also because they need to spank Argentina. Spain is close behind too, but they can't get careless at this juncture. The underdogs may be Paraguay and Uruguay."

Any thoughts about the performance of the Mexican soccer team?

"They weren't awful, but they were lacking in some areas and questionable in others. We have two young guns at forwards in Giovanni Dos Sants and Javier 'Little Pea' Hernandez; it just boggled my mind as to why Javer Aguirre never started them both in all the games and I think Guillermo Ochoa should have been the starter throughout the tourney with Oscar Perez being the insurance policy. Rafael Marquez played fairly well and Andres Guardado wasn't bad either. With a more consistent gameplay and careful defense, we could have done more, a lot more."

You know what's funny? This whole Casey Casper situation.

Before I start, this is my personal opinion. I don't know the facts or reasonings behind what happened so I don't want anyone to think I have some kind of insider information. This is my blog and these are my thoughts on the situation.

I've met Casey in person, twice. He's a cool guy and really easy going. But for some reason, whenever he signs onto TBN, he thinks he's better then anyone. I've never met someone so polar. I seriously wonder if being around other people keeps Casey from acting like the big shot that he thinks he is. I doubt he'd say half the things he does on TBN in person. He knows better then that.

Also, the whole Free Casey act is ridiculous. His behaviour here completely warrants his multiple bannings. He trolls, he doesn't add anything positive to TBN and he breaks TBN rules numerous times. I don't know about him but if I were ever banned, I'd try to understand why I was banned and try not to let it happen again. Sure TBN is just an internet forum but that doesn't mean he can do whatever he pleases on it. He isn't the first person to get banned nor was it his first ban. He had chances and he didn't seem to learn from them. If he's allowed back but ends up getting banned again, I for one won't be surprised, which is quite sad.

People can try and justify his actions and claim that there have been worse forumers but you really can't compare situations. I think that whenever someone is banned, it's based on that persons behaviour and actions, not someone else's. Also, reputation plays a huge part. Let's face it, when you are not very well received by the majority of the community, you don't really give yourself a fair chance. Now that doesn't mean that you can't change that because there have been numerous cases where people have. Casey didn't seem to care. You want to be a part of a community but you don't care what the community thinks of your behaviour? That seems very egotistic to me. Like I said earlier, he had plenty of chances to change his ways but he didn't. Obviously he was going to be kept on a short leash so it's not surprising that he was banned for something seemingly tame. I think Tim Cory said it best

Quote:

He was basically a dog that had been put away because it bit people. Then, when he is finally let back out, he snaps and barks at everyone that walks by him.

You just don't leave the dog out and wait for it to bite someone again, especially when it has a history.

He was allowed back in on the presumption that he had changed, and he hadn't.

Either way, I hope people just let this thing take care of itself. I think part of the reason why Casey doesn't bother to change his ways is because he thinks people want him back and he's partially correct. I wouldn't mind him back either but if he's going to come back as the same person he was when he returned, then forget it. If he changes his ways and is the Casey that was at the TBN Games then I'm sure he'll be welcomed with open hands by more then the a select few.

I don't know if anyone will read this let alone comment but I needed to get that off my chest and I didn't want to start another thread just to voice my thoughts. I guess that's what blogs are for.

I thought, what the heck, I'm doing anythig important now anyways. Springbreak in school for a week, so why not post something here?

Well, as the season went on, we played more and more bad and when the regular season was over, we had finished up in the last place, which meant we would have to play a relegation serie to avoid relegation from the top J18 league in north Sweden.

First, it was supposed to be a league with home/away meetings, but it ended up with a one game league which was played over a weekend. So there we stood with Teg, also from J18 Elit, Piteå and Vännäs, both winners from diffrent J18 Div.1 series.

We started of with a 5-1 victory over Piteå just to loose 5-3 over Vännäs and got in to a must win game on the last day against Teg. Over regular season we'd managed to loose all games against Teg and had 4-18 i goals in four games. But we took our A game out of the shadows and won with 7-4 which made that we were confirmed for J18 Elit North 10/11, no matter what the score would be in the game between Vännäs vs. Piteå. A game Vännäs won 3-2. But the only thing that matters is that we avoid relegation.

Out of an personal aspect it went pretty well. One goal, 2 PIMS and a +/- of +2. Now we recharging out batteries and looking forward to next season. But first, we have to do some preseason training. We got a pretty hard schedule, but it's not a killing schedule ;)

Mondays: Running
Tuesdays: Wrestling
Wednesdays: Strength in gym
Thursdays: Floorball/assault course
Fridays: Wrestling
Saturdays: Free time
Sundays: Free time

STATS

J18 Elit North 09/10 Fall
Games: 22
Goals: 5
Assits: 3
Points: 8
PIMs: 2
+/-: -35 (8/43)
Shots: 34
Shot%: 15

J18 Elit North 09/10 Spring
Games: 10
Goals: 2
Assits: 2
Points: 4
PIMs: 9
+/-: Even (9/9)
Shots: 19
Shot%: 11

J18 Elit North 10 Relegation League
Games: 3
Goals: 1
Assits: 0
Points: 1
PIMs: 2
+/-: 2 (2/0)
Shots: 9
Shot%: 11

Note: There's a big difference between Fall and Spring series. In Fall, all the best teams are in, but in Spring, the five best teams in Fall gets promoted to a better serie, containing 10 teams. The five best in the north and the five best in the east. In south/west, it's the same thing. Then the top teams playing a playoff to get the gold in the end. This year, Brynäs IF won over Djurgårdens IF 4-1 to get the gold.

This is a little player blog I'm going to try and do throughout the BMHL playoffs.

____________________________

So, here I am, in the BMHL playoffs. A free agent signed with less than half of the regular season left in the BMHL season. Reluctance was the one reason it took me so long to join a pro hockey league. I had never aspired to become rich, and famous. I just played the game because I loved hockey, and wanted to keep doing that without any pressure, and then I realized that to pay the bills, I needed to do what I what I did best, play hockey.

The hockey world questioned what the Kansas City Stampede were thinking, signing an unstable free agent, who had just joined the league. The players and management on the Stampede knew something a little different. How, you ask? I had known them for a long time as we had all played in the same junior league. Chris Bell is a great scout, and as soon as I contacted the league to ask if I could play, he called me. I waited about an hour, received other calls from different team, and then decided I wanted to play for KC. I don't regret it whatsoever, as I've enjoyed my stay tremendously.

That's that, now on to the playoffs.

As a team, we sputtered going into the last few games of the season, but we have regained composure since then. We're facing a flaming Loggers team, winning clutch games at the end of the season, and making the playoffs as the last seed. On paper, they look weak, with their players seeming out of shape, and inactive. Despite that, they have league leaders in almost every statistical category, and are a force on the ice. We took the first game a few days ago, winning 4-1 and dominating the game. Unfortunately though, last night we faltered, losing 4-2. I scored my first playoff goal, but by losing, we've given the Loggers a chance to pull ahead, instead of "shoving them to the ground", and giving ourselves the advantage. I can only hope that with Captain Ken Meredith leading us, we can pull ahead, and put the nail in the coffin, and shut down Paul Wheeler, Janis Riss, and the rest of the Michigan Loggers.

In a week or so, hopefully the announcers will be saying: The Michigan Loggers have been chopped down by the Kansas City Stampede in the BMHL Playoffs.

____________________________

Wow, this wasn't as good as I hoped it would be.

But, thanks for reading.

Hey,

I thought I should give a run down of what is up.

I won't bore everyone with the details, but I have clearly been unbanned. I want to thank the staff for taking the time to discuss my banning.

It's true... If you just contact the staff and talk to them like an adult, you can usually work through a problem.

I'm in the process of being recruited into the Army, and I have a lot of retarded dreams for myself. I'm a much chiller guy then I was when I got banned. I have a lot of focus on my goals and it keeps me leveled.

I have also made a few new friends in my life that are helpful to living the kind of life I want.

I'm still sarcastic though... So I hope that comes through!

Also, cutting me hair has helped with the ladies. I should have listened to Drezz a long time ago. People take me seriously, people engage me in discussion, and the ladies are more apt to dance when I get out to the clubs. I guess not looking homeless was a good move.
