Pierre Gauthier was fired after the horrible season of the Montreal Canadiens and Jean-Marc applied for the job. Many candidates could have been chosen over him, but Geoff Molson decided to take a huge risk and choose a rookie GM with no experience but alot of heart.
Follow his journey to what could become, an induction to the hall of fame.
It didn't take long for J-M to get used to his job. Only hours after getting the job he met the staff already in place individually. He clearly stated that there'd be some changes. He would try to keep the most people as possible, but that some of them would have to go. He also said that the coaches and assistant coaches would be more involved but he didn't confirm if Randy Cunneyworth would be keeping his job as Head Coach, although he said that Larry Carrière will keep his job.
A few days later, RDS.ca finds out with very credible sources that Montreal GM, Jean-Marc Dubois has met some candidates as potentiel Head Coach of the Habs, while Randy Cunneyworth has been shown the exit. In those candidates, Michel Therrien, Bob Hartley, Marc Crawford, Patrick Roy and the biggest surprise, last year's Head Coach Jacques Martin. GM Dubois confirmed those rumors, but the rest of the interview details won't be revealed.
